Rare cast bronze decorative door plate made by Whipple Manufacturing Co. Cir. 1884. It can be seen in the Buhl & Sons 1884 catalogue. The door plate is intricately decorated in a Japanese inspired Eastlake design with a crane at the top, an urn near the bottom, and various other floral and geometric decorations over a detailed background. The door plate measures 5 3/8"l x 1 5/8"w. It is marked on the back 2741.
