Door Face Plate.  The plate is made of wrought bronze with a deep coppery color. It measures 8"l x 2 1/4"w.   "Verona" Design by Sargent & Co. Cir 1901-1905. Unique shaping with a shell design at the top and rounded features at the bottom.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
