Sargent RM Design Door Plate

Cast bronze door plate made by Sargent. Cir. 1901. It has a very coppery color. Intricate design and shaping with a quilt-like background and floral and swirling Victorian style elements. The door plate measures 9"h x 2 1/2"w at the widest point. It is marked on the back Sargent & Co. 485 RM.

One has more patina, the other one is more polished. Please let us know if you have a preference when ordering.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
