Sargent Jackson Keyed Entry Plate

Door plate made by Sargent & Co. This plate has a hole for keyed entry above the doorknob. This is for use with cylinder type locks. Jackson design. It is made of wrought bronze. Cir. 1926. The plate measures 8"h x 2"w. Art deco style with an acanthus leaf design in center.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
