Sargent Hampton Door Plate Brass (Door Plate 31) Door face plate. Made of wrought brass. "Hampton" design by Sargent & Co. Cir. 1920. The door plate features rounded corners and shaping. The door plate measures 7 1/8"l x 2 3/8"w. This particular plate has an extra large hole for the doorknob. Perhaps it was an exterior plate for a larger knob or meant to take a lever handle. Many standard knobs will still fit on it, but some with a smaller neck will go through the hole. The interior hole is 3/4"diam. the outside rim of the escutcheon is 1"diam.
This Sargent Hampton Door Plate Brass is an antique or salvaged item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. We make every effort to clean as much paint, dirt and rust off of items while still leaving as much of the original patina as possible. Photo is of actual item you will receive. If multiples are ordered, a photo will be sent of additional pieces for approval.
