Sargent Aramis Doorknob

Decorative wrought bronze doorknob made by Sargent. Aramis design. Cir. 1901-1910. The doorknob features a concentric design with leaf, bead and chain elements. It measures 2 1/4"diam. It takes a standard sized non-threaded square shaft.  Some dark spotting on the patina along the edge. This could be polished if so desired.

Sargent

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
