Sargent 1888 Pocket Door Plate
Cast bronze flush mount pocket door plate made by Sargent. Cir. 1888. Eastlake style with geometric and floral motifs on a textured japanned background. The plate measures 4 3/4"h x 2"w. The inset area that would need to be cut out of the door measures 3 1/4"h x 1 3/4"w. There is a keyhole in the middle.
The plate is in excellent condition.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
