Cast bronze door plate made by Sargent. Cir. 1888.  Eastlake style design with floral and geometric motifs over a textured background. The door plate measures 5 1/4"h x 1 1/2"w. It has a dark patina, but could be polished up if desired.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
