Decorative hook type cast iron window sash lift with intricate Eastlake style ivy design on a textured background. Made by Reading. Cir. 1885. The plate area measures 1 1/2"l x 1"h to the base of the hook part. It has two holes for attachment.

Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
