Decorative door face plate made by Reading. Cir. 1891-1899. It is made of cast bronze. Heavily detailed with geometric and floral motifs. The door plate measures 5 1/2"h x 2"w. It is marked on the back T231. It has a dark even patina.

Reading

Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
