Norwalk 1894 Pocket Door Plate
Cast bronze flush mount pocket door plate made by Norwalk. Cir. 1886-1894. Beautifully decorated with dense floral, leaf and rope motifs. The plate measures 7 1/2"h x 2 1/4"w. The inset area that would need to be cut out of the door measures 3 1/2"h x 1 3/4"w. There is a keyhole in the middle. The back is marked Pat. Sept 1886 7858. Excellent condition.

Norwalk
Norwalk Lock Company began under the leadership of Ebenezer Hill in 1865. It was located in Norwalk, CT. They manufactured locks, keys, builders hardware and apple peelers. In 1864, after the purchase of a steam pump company, it became Norwalk Iron Works. The Segal Lock and Hardware Company acquired Norwalk in 1929.
