Cast brass rosette with nickel plating most likely made by the British manufacturers May & Padmore. Pre 1930's. The rosette features a decorative rim. It has 3 holes for attachment. It measures 2"diam. with the hole for the doorknob measuring 3/4"diam. Although hard to see on some, there are a number of markings on the back including M & P (May & Padmore), 7965, 8580 and 8379. There is some plating loss.

May & Padmore Ltd. was a British hardware manufacturing company based out of Birmingham. They were also known as Maymore, but often marked their items with M & P. They produced a wide range of builders hardware up until the 1930s.
