Mallory Wheeler Fleur de Lis Bin Pull

Cast iron decorative bin pull made by Mallory Wheeler. Cir. 1882-1885. It features three fleur de lis sitting atop a textured background. The pull measures 4 1/8"l  1 1/4"h. It has a 3 1/2" center to center distance for the mounting screws. No manufacturers markings.

Mallory Wheeler

Mallory Wheeler began in 1834 in New Haven Conn. Under the name Pierpont & Hotchkiss. In 1866 the name changed to Davenport, Mallory & Co., then in 1868 it became Mallory, Wheeler & Co. under John Davenport Wheeler. They made high quality, quite ornate hardware and won a number of awards for their designs. Sargent was a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. The company closed due to bancruptcy in 1913.
