Lockwood St. Germain Latch Door Plate
Cast brass oversized door plate for exterior doors with a latch made by Lockwood. Cir. 1897-1914. Shaped at the top and bottom with a decorative border and wreath and ribbon designs. The door plate measures 10 5/8"l x 3"w. The distance between the doorknob hole and latch hole is 2 1/4" center to center. It does not come with a latch. If you need one, let us know. we may have something that works. The door plate is marked on the back 1931 1/4. The door plate has been polished, but still retains small spots of patina character.

We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. Lockwood
Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
