Lockwood Franklin Pocket Door Plate

Wrought steel pocket door plate with a copper finish. Flush mount style with a recessed area for a hold.  Made by Lockwood. Franklin design. It features a bead outline design around the edges. Cir. 1914. The door plate measures 7"l x 2 1/2"w. The recessed area measures 3"l x 1 3/8"w. It is mounted by four screws on the outside corners.

Lockwood

Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day. The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
