A pair of matched wrought steel door plates with a bronze/brass finish. These door plates were made by Lockwood. Franklin design. Cir. 1914. The door plates measure 7"h x 2 1/2"w.

Lockwood

Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day. The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
