Lockwood Darien Door Set

Wrought brass door set with 2 door plates and a doorknob set. Made by Lockwood. Darien design. Cir. 1932. The door plates are art deco in style with almost a heart shaped design at the top and bottom. They measure 5 1/2"l x 1 3/4"w. The doorknobs have a concentric design with a convex center. The doorknobs measure 2"diam.  Nice patina on all pieces. The doorknobs come complete with a threaded shaft which should be adjustable to fit most sized doors. If a specific size is needed, just let us know. We are happy to check and we can sometimes swap out shafts if needed. One doorknob has a dent on the convex face. The dented area measures approximately 3/4"l x 1/4"h.

We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
