Wrought brass door plate Made by Lockwood. Darien design. Cir. 1932. The door plate is art deco in style with almost a heart shaped design at the top and bottom. It measures 5 1/2"l x 1 3/4"w. Nice patina.

Lockwood

Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
