Lockwood Broken Leaf Double Key Door Plate

Oversized exterior door plate with two keyholes. One keyhole has a swinging cover. Lockwood's popular Broken Leaf design (although the "broken" leaf is obscured by the top keyhole in this model). Cir. 1894. The door plate is made of cast bronze. It measures 7"h x 1 3/4"w. It appears to have a modern gold finish applied to it.

Lockwood

Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
