Lockwood 1894 Chandelier Hook

Large decorative cast iron ceiling chandelier hook made by Lockwood. Seen in the 1894 catalogue. It has a long affixed screw for attachment. The screw measures 3 3/4"l. The hook portion measures 3 1/2"l. The hook is decorated on both sides with a swirling leaf and flower design on a textured background.

Lockwood

Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
