FC Linde Old Copper Bronze Door Plate Left

Single decorative cast bronze door plate made by FC Linde. Cir. 1891. Seen in the 1891 Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett catalogue along with unique sideways oval doorknobs. These were made as left and right versions with a swooping feather-like design at the top and an arrowlike  swoop at the bottom. This is the left version (seen on the left of the photo). The right version in the photo is shown for comparative purposes. They are sold individually.  It is marked on the back L 3 1/2 F. C. Linde & Co. Dreskill, N.J. The door plate measures 7 1/4"h x 2 3/4"w/.  The plate is fairly polished.

This FC Linde Old Copper Bronze Door Plate Left is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. We make every effort to clean as much paint, dirt and rust off of items while still leaving as much of the original patina as possible. Photos shown are of actual item you will receive. If additional pieces are ordered, a photo of additional pieces will be sent for approval.

F.C. Linde

F.C. Linde & Co. was a small hardware manufacturing company based out of Creskill, New Jersey. They did not produce their own catalogues, but their products can be found in Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. catalogues in the 1890s. This was their main distributor. Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. is still in operation under the name True Value. Barrows purchased F. C. Linde & Co. in 1890.
