FC Linde Door Plate

Decorative solid bronze door plate made by FC Linde. Cir. 1885- 1892. Eastlake style with a filled background and floral motifs in the middle. The plate measures 5 1/4"l x 1 3/4"w. It is marked on the back F.C. Linde & Co. Dreskill, N.J. There is also one unmarked version available that is not counted in the inventory, possibly a slightly later model. After FC Linde was bought out, they continued to produce some of the original designs.

F.C. Linde

F.C. Linde & Co. was a small hardware manufacturing company based out of Creskill, New Jersey. They did not produce their own catalogues, but their products can be found in Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. catalogues in the 1890s. This was their main distributor. Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. is still in operation under the name True Value. Barrows purchased F. C. Linde & Co. in 1890.
