Corbin 1895 Sash Lift and Lock
Antique decorative cast bronze sash lift with locking mechanism. A version is seen in the Corbin 1895 catalogue. It features a decorative border and shaped ends. It measures 3 1/4"l x 2"w. There is a locking mechanism on the bottom. The latch part is marked Pat d Aug 22 1882. This piece would have originally had a small catch that it latched into. This is only the lift side. I do not have the original catch. If you need one, let us know and we may be able to find something that will work.
This Corbin 1895 Sash Lift and Lock is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. We make every effort to clean as much paint, dirt and rust off of items while still leaving as much of the original patina as possible. Photos shown are of actual item you will receive.
Corbin
P&F Corbin was founded by brothers Philip and Frank Corbin in New Britain, CT. in 1851. Interestingly, Philip previously worked for the company that would become Russell and Erwin, which Corbin would merge with in 1902. It ran with a number of subsidiary companies in the 1900's including Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., Corbin Screw Company and even a Corbin Motor Vehicle Corporation! Corbin is still in business today under ownership of Assa Abloy under the name Corbin Russwin.
