Corbin 1895 Chandelier Hook

Large decorative cast iron ceiling chandelier hook made by Corbin. Seen in the 1895 catalogue. It has a long affixed screw for attachment. The screw measures 3 1/8"l. The hook portion measures 3 1/2"l. The hook is decorated on both sides with an elaborate swirling leaf design.

Corbin

P&F Corbin was founded by brothers Philip and Frank Corbin in New Britain, CT. in 1851. Interestingly, Philip previously worked for the company that would become Russell and Erwin, which Corbin would merge with in 1902. It ran with a number of subsidiary companies in the 1900’s including Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., Corbin Screw Company and even a Corbin Motor Vehicle Corporation! Corbin is still in business today under ownership of Assa Abloy under the name Corbin Russwin.
