Chicago Design 433 Door Plate

Bronze door plate with nickel plating made by Chicago Hardware. Cir. 1888-1895. The design is almost shield shaped. This design was offered in a few different sizes in the 1895 catalogue. This one measures 5 3/8"h (although the catalogue lists 5 1/2") x 1 3/4"w. There are no measurements listed on the 1888 catalogue but the nickel plated option seen is there, so this one is probably are of an earlier date. The plating is in good condition with some very small areas of spot loss. There is surface scratching from age.
