Barrows Theseus Door Plate

Decorative cast brass door plate made by Barrows Lock Works. Theseus design. Cir. 1910-1939. This plate does not have the standard "cup" part to hold the doorknob, but is just a flat opening for the doorknob. Sometimes these were used for doorknobs with a flared base. Door plate measures 9 1/8″h x 2 3/8″w.

Barrows Lock Works began in 1880 in Lockport, Ill. It is purchased by Yale & Towne in 1925, but they continue to produce under the Barrows name until 1953.
